She is going to have so many tutus. I will be gutted if she’s not into dressing up.


But mostly just little sun dresses. When she can walk, this is going to be so cute!


I also want to get some skinny jeans and a cute scarf.


Basically dressing my daughter up is more fun than dressing up myself now!

Chicken Fajita Bowls

I have talked about Mexican bowls before here, and got the idea from Liberty London Girl. We eat them a lot. It’s a great Friday night supper when you want tasty food and a night on the sofa. We both prep everything then pile our bowls up and watch a movie.

At the moment we are making efforts to be healthy so we switched up our bowl ingredients this week and I think we found a new favourite meal. It’s a bit more work and I have to admit that I didn’t cook this my husband did…

You need (for 2);
2 chicken breasts, cut into small strips
(fajita seasoning made to this recipe)
150g brown rice
1 onion, finely chopped
1 red/green pepper, chopped in strips
1 tin red kidney beans
1 large avocado
olive oil
chicken stock
salt and pepper
2/3 cloves of garlic, finely chopped

served with salad;
leaves, cucumber, pepper and sweetcorn


1. Make your fajita seasoning, make a big quantity so that this is done for next time. This way you don’t have to buy the packet stuff unless you’re feeling lazy. Then smoother your chicken and cover in cling film until you’re ready to cook.

2. Made your guacamole; we like to mash ours in a bowl with a fork so it’s fairly chunky, then we add lime juice, salt and pepper and chilli flakes.

3. Make your kidney beans, heat the olive oil in a saucepan, then add 1/4 of the chopped onion and cook for 5 minutes then add the garlic and cook for another 2-3 minutes. Then add the beans and 100ml of stock and cook for 10 minutes until the beans are soft then mash the beans – add more stock if necessary.

4. Cook your rice, we boiled brown rice for 15 minutes. I like it to have bite.

5. Fry off the rest of your onion and peppers in some oil until they begin to caramelise, put to one side.

6. Finely cook your chicken, we just brought a George Foreman grill which I was so against as I hate having lots of appliances in the kitchen but I have to say I love it especially for cooking chicken. Otherwise to keep this healthy grill your chicken for 5-7 minutes.

Then chuck it all in a bowl.


Make Up

I thought I would share my recommendations for  make up today, what I love and wear. This is actually my basic face, what I wear every day…

I haven’t included eyeshadows as I change frequently, ditto with lipsticks although I love red and have way too many red lipsticks!

Make Up

I’ll start from the base, I wear Chantecaille Just Skin tinted moisturiser. It’s expensive but worth it as you really don’t need to wear a lot its great coverage for a tinted moisturiser. My last tube lasted me for ever so it’s totally worth the price tag, with cheaper foundations that I do buy when I’ve run out now and again might be £20 but last me a couple of months. Go to Space NK and get them to find the right shade for you.

Then Yves Saint Laurent Touche Eclat for those dark circles… so necessary. I am sure this product needs no introduction. Again go to a store and find the right shade. So important.

Blusher; I love the new Chanel creme blush, blusher is my favourite product I am obsessed! I also love Topshop’s creme blush especially the cute packaging.

I then double up with a powder – at the moment I am loving Benefit’s Coralista, I love benefits powder blushes, especially the fun packaging.

I discovered Laura Mercier’s loose setting powder when I was buying make up for my wedding. It’s amazing. It’s translucent and not cakey in any way and it helps hold everything in place. I also love Laura Mercier’s concealer for blemishes – do not use a high-lighter for that.

I discovered brow’s again before my wedding. I am very light-skinned and blonde so my eyebrows kind of get away with being untidy. But I do notice the difference when they are tidy though so I do make an effort now. I have them threaded as often as possible and tinted as well. In between I use Chanel’s brow scultping pencil to brush and fill in.

I always curl my eyelashes as they are also blonde and so short. When I can I get false eyelashes but they are tricky and a little annoying… but I do love how they look! If I don’t have false eyelashes I use Benefits they’re real and/or Benefits Bad Gal for more thickness. I have tried a lot of mascara’s and I always come back to these.

I love black khol eyeliner, and wear it all the time. I am currently using Mac’s but I also like Chanel. I always loose these which really annoys me.

Lastly every day I love Nivea lip balm and Yves Saint Laurent Rouge Pur Couture Vernis À Lèvres. LOVE it.

So there you go. Seems like a lot but I have this down to about 5 minutes. If I really have no time it’s a little base cover, blusher (always) and mascara.

Valentines Cards

So I know it’s still January but I have to give you my pic of Valentines cards now as they are all from Etsy – my favourite place for cards. They are all from the US so you need to order now!

I like buying my special cards this way as I love to give unique cards that will really be appreciated.

The one I have got for my Mr is so him and I cannot wait to give it to him!

We always swap cards and have dinner at home, and he buys me a little gift… we keep it simple but any excuse for a date night, cards and gifts is alright by me!

Lately I have been getting back into the swing of things after the holiday season, my husband is back at work and we are back on getting Jessica into a routine of activities, naps and bedtimes.

We are still all about the baby play-date, we love meeting up with our Mama buddies at Zazus for long mornings and multiple hot chocolates and we love it even more when people bring us ridiculously pretty cakes to eat!

I cannot give up my treats, although I am trying very hard… hot chocolates with frothy cream on top and pieces of toffee and sea salt chocolate with my afternoon cup of tea… if I am lucky Vogue gets a flick through.

I am loving having quiet days at home again, I am finding time to clean and rearrange things now and again.. it might take me all day to do one chest of drawers but it’s so satisfying. My new rose gold watch is sitting happily with my perfumes but I really need it resized so I can actually wear it. I feel so grown up wearing a watch!

I have also been writing thank you cards since the 27th of December… I finally mailed the pile today.

I got sick last week, that sucked. I always, every year without fail get a cold when the temperature drops. It considered with a baby growth spurt that left me without much sleep. It was fine though my Mum came one day, my in-laws another and my husband made me delicious cold busting curry and ensured I had tons of fruit in the house.

One day Jess and I just stayed home all day by ourselves, we didn’t leave the house once. I think she loved it, she’s such a homebody like her Mama. We watch movies together on the sofa including my favourite Great Expectations – made in 1946. I first saw it in school and have loved it ever since.

This week has been better, I am walking my husband to his office again and I popped into Small St Espresso for a proper amazing coffee before I headed home – I intend to do this more often.

Mostly I am just loving hanging out with my sweet girl, she is becoming more and more fun and we are the bestest friends.
