I absolutely adore this Etsy store… they have so many cute prints…
This print would be great in a sophisticated but fun kitchen…
We have the below two in Jessica’s nursery which we customised to fit in with her rainbow colour scheme.

So lately… I have been so very busy… doing what feels like the easiest yet toughest job ever.
She’s a bit of handful… and the sweetest little girl ever.
We try to do one thing every day, whether that be meeting friends for coffee and cake, or have the Grandparents visit or a baby group etc, but no more than that… we need lots of quiet time – we are treating this as a fourth trimester. The times when I haven’t given her enough contact time with me… we have both suffered for it. It is so important!
I am having tons of fun dressing her and arranging her things in her room. She has so many wonderful things already.
Some days she even lets me grab some lunch, I am addicted to boiled eggs as they are easy and if she changes her mind then I can eat one-handed.
Those times when she’s not so keen I kinda snack on naughty things… newly obsessed by these chocolate covered marshmallows. So good.
She is still receiving the most awesome gifts, I cannot thanks friends and family enough for everything, she is too lucky. As am I, there have been many gifts for me also.
Her Grandma and Nana are knitting up a storm, these two could seriously open a shop they are so good. Jumpers, blankets and the cutest sleeping bag. I am truly going to look after these and keep them forever.
When she is asleep on me there is no moving, so I watch movies and tv or read. I have read so many books since she arrived… it feels like the biggest luxury.
And my amazing Mr is still on cooking duty most of the time, I do when I can but it’s not often and when I do I often get interrupted so I normally make quick and simple dinners meanwhile he is making shrimp tacos and full on roast dinners.
The best guy.
This week I am catching up with my work bits and figuring out when I can find some time to blog… I miss it here!

I am a little behind with these diary posts… but I’ll try to catch up this week.
I have just started my maternity leave, so am trying to relax and rest but also sort a few things out before Baby arrives and do nice things with friends and family too… which means I am actually still fairly busy. Who has time to go to work?
I have been shopping for Baby T, still trying really hard to stop but sometimes I cannot resist.
There was a lovely lunch in the country with friends and a massive brownie the likes of which I have never seen before!
I am still addicted to swimming, and really miss it when I can’t go… and this yogurt is the winner of the best yogurt ever. Blood orange compete and thick gloopy yogurt. So good. Go get it.
More presents too… I am in love with this Aden and Anais muslin from my ever generous friend Sarah and am taking it to hospital to swaddle Baby for her ride home… my Mama also got me some Neal’s Yard bits which I cannot wait to use…
I am filling my tummy with cake while I can, trying to enjoy these last few weeks of a big belly…
We also celebrated our second wedding anniversary, while we kept it low-key it was the nicest day and we took time out to reflect on these years and to get excited about someone joining our little family.
My Mr absolutely spoiled with a beautiful necklace and dinner at Bell’s Diner.
You should go if you haven’t been, super cute restaurant serving small plates, and the setting is so French you could be in Paris!
I had to have a little glass of bubbles and they added a beautiful blackberry syrup… My favourite dishes were the salt cod fritters and the slow cooked cauliflower…
And the Onglet steak with onion puree and mushrooms was SO good,
Special mention goes out to the Abernethy butter and the Blackberry and Apple Crumble which we are both still talking about now.
While I was still at work I did start to struggle… working till 38 weeks was not my best plan, so I treated myself to lots of naps and rest over the weekends with a new book to help me stay put and Biggie the cat looking after me I got through it.
The flower lady by Marks Bread is back and I have been to see her a lot… with beautiful bouquets of wild flowers and mini bunches of sweetpeas appearing all over the house.
We also had another visit out to Wiltshire to celebrate my Gran’s 88th birthday with a roast beef lunch and mini afternoon tea treats on a gorgeous August day.
Lots of lovely times!

Looking back to last week…
I wrote a lot of thank you cards, and hello baby cards!
We went out for Indian food and I had a delicious glass of red wine for a friend’s birthday… such a treat.
Somehow I have become obsessed with chocolate, I couldn’t get enough of these hots chocolate flakes last week, despite the heat!
We are still making little adjustments at home, adding shelves here and there and tidying up, it’s so nice to change things up every now and again, and makes me look at the house anew again. Adding flowers is my favourite, quickest way to do this.
Saturday morning I made French toast with bacon, berries, syrup, yogurt and syrup. Then I went for coffee and cheesecake with a friend and shopped for bits for dinner… much sweetness had that morning!
My sister-in-law and her boyfriend came to stay Saturday night and we stayed in making cocktails with fresh melon (mine were virgin of course) and a mountain of Greek food… My Mr made hummous and baba ganoush and I made calamari with some amazing squid from Love the Fish Shop, then halloumi, marinated lamb kebabs and a greek salad. It was amazing. I am not sure we needed all of that food but we loved it.
It was the Balloon Fiesta in Bristol this weekend, which is one of those weekends you really love your city as it’s such a symbol of the city having the balloons in the sky. We were too busy to actually make it up to the fiesta but we watched from our front door on Saturday night with cocktails in our hands.
Sunday was even slower… I had a lazy morning on my own while everyone went climbing so made a nice breakfast and played about with the nursery, arranging her things on a new shelf and working out where some new prints will go.
Then we went for Sunday lunch in Wiltshire at my in-laws new place which is now a 40 minutes drive instead of 2-3 hours, amazing.
And now it’s Monday again… I only have 3 weeks left at work but I am seriously struggling now… so another quiet week is needed to help me along!

I have had a lovely couple of weekends recently… despite being 7 months pregnant and getting bigger every week I am still enjoying the sunshine,if not the heat.
I had to miss St Paul’s Carnival this year, a big Bristol event, as it was my God-daughters 3rd birthday party. I was very glad of something nice to do instead as I don’t think I would have had fun with the huge crowds given how hot it was, and the fact that I couldn’t get involved in the rum punch.
The party was at King’s Weston House… an amazing new wedding venue that is in the process of being renovated, the front has just been cleaned and looks beautiful.
I loved the styling of the party room and the fact there’s not much furniture made it perfect as all the children were able to just bolt around the room to their heart’s content… that’s when they were not running around the huge green lawns!
Star was a fairy princess and was super cute all day, she has the prettiest pink frosted four layer cake that tasted even better than it looked…
I’ve had lots of countryside, with a friend’s birthday BBQ on the Ashton Court Estate and a visit to Chew Magna… England’s rolling green hills are so lovely when its blue skies and sunshine.
We visited The Pony and Trap again and I had exactly the same Sunday lunch as I had last time we went. How boring of me… how delicious it was!
I have been working hard to stay hydrated – a tip for any fellow preggo’s, the more you drink the less puffy your ankles will be.
I am as obsessed with watermelon juice as I am on holiday and my Mr is keeping a big supply in the fridge, also pineapple juice and soda is rocking my world… especially when I have fun straws to use. Who needs cocktails?
I have had the odd treat in the form of a white wine spritzer, I had a really great Sauvignon Blanc, topped it up with a lot of soda and then threw in a handful of frozen grapes… this is the best thing ever. Go freeze some grapes right now.
Also staying cool even in the shade is just not possible sometimes so I have been retreating inside to lie down a fair bit, spritzing myself with my favourite cooling spray. I need some for my feet!
And of course when the sun is out everyone loves to BBQ, we had three last weekend. My husband made jerk chicken, and we smoked some chicken legs over hickory woodchips (YUM), we had burgers, sausages, corn on the corn, roasted mushrooms, potato salad and a ton of radishes… I could eat like this forever.
This weekend we mostly stayed at home (BBQing) so I made little comfy spots in the shade, we went and got me a comfy sunlounger and a paddling pool, some friends dropped by and I was pretty happy hanging out in the garden. When I was brought a watermelon juice and more BBQ food I was pretty much in heaven.
I also got to visit a wonderful flower farm last week – Organic Blooms are exhibiting at the Eco Wedding Fair this year and so we went to visit and see what they are all about, it’s an amazing project and I can’t wait to share with everyone what they are doing. Look out for the blog post coming soon on the Eco Wedding Fair site.
Long continue this wonderful summer, but if I could have a cool breeze following me around that would be great!

Last week was a busy one…
We headed to a friend’s wedding on the first weekend, at Clevedon Hall which has the most beautiful grounds, it made for some amazing portraits. My friend is the wedding planner there so I can highly recommend it!
My bump is growing all the time, luckily a friend lent me a pretty maternity dress to wear… I love the colour, hopefully I will get to wear it again…
I had a marathon cleaning and sorting session at home, one of my favourite things to do is to sort through things and get rid of things I no longer need. Then I filled the house with peonies…
I am currently obsessed with my new perfume from Paris and this Elemis oil… little pampering treats are so important, as is red lipstick, as I grow bigger and bigger.
We have finally had some sun, there are still cloudy days and the odd rainy one but the sunny days are making up for it… I am taking strolls when I can, slowly of course…
One particularly grumpy day I decided to go to Harts Bakery near my office and treat myself, I had an awesome Moroccan spiced sweet potato and feta pie and spied some poppies by the side of the road on my way back… which actually cheered me up, of course the pie helped.
Friday I picked up some new wheels, a Pashley Little Black Bike… which I love already and must try to get out more this week before I can’t ride it for a while… then that evening stayed in for Mexican bowls and movies…
Then at the weekend we took it easy, I haven’t been sleeping well and my energy levels are quite low at the moment but it’s so important to still get out and do things, and see people.
Saturday we mooched down our local high street to buy our Sunday roast meat at Rare Butchers, and pick up freshly grown herbs… they were setting up for a street party so the road was closed and the bunting was up, love that.
We visited a little flower stall where the flowers are picked from local gardens, and had a coffee in the sunshine.
Then we got in the car and headed to the Cotswolds for a friend’s birthday lunch, the pub we visited was amazing. The garden was huge but all sectioned off in little areas by flowers beds so it felt so secluded.
We went to The Wheatshef in Northleach, which I can highly recommend… the drinks selections, for those boozing and those not was immense, service good, food even better. The garden is beautiful and I so want to go and stay there!
I wasn’t the only preggo which was lush, and meant I didn’t bore everyone (I hope) by not being able to talk about anything else, and being able to compare experiences with someone pretty close to due dates as me was great… makes everything a little less scary and easier to laugh at. The barman also made us delicious elderflower and mint carafes which made us both very happy.
The best thing though was the ridiculous portion of fries, it turned out this was for two people but when pretty much the whole table had ordered some we still had a lot. A lot, a lot, a lot. I was pretty happy with the situation.
Happily I am craving normal healthy food again as well, Sunday I wanted juice so my husband made me this amazing pink lady apple, pineapple and kiwi juice. So. Good.
Then we had a friend over for a summery roast chicken which we served with roasted Jersey royals, home-made ratatouille and steamed asparagus. So simple and delicious.
I also had the most amazing present for the Baby arrive, in the shape of a quilt from my Godmother… it’s so beautiful it went straight into the cot. She is getting quite the collection now.
We also finally finished my chocolate from Paris… which was quite upsetting, I need more of those!
And now it is Tuesday already, I wasn’t quite ready for the week to start yesterday… but I am looking forward to a yoga class and going shopping for a big list of Baby needs this week.

So I am about to hit the third trimester of my pregnancy, the first 4 months were long and slow, and tough, but the time since then has flown by.
Baby and I are still being spoiled, my beautiful god-children each picked her a present, they are so lovely.
I am really starting to grow now, there is no hiding the bump anymore.
I definitely have a couple of preferred outfits, and staying smart for work is getting difficult, more shopping needed soon to dress this growing bump.

Little tasks I used to take for granted are becoming slightly difficult, nothing I can’t handle yet but I do find I need a little more time to get from A to B when I am walking and once again I am having to remember to have snacks and not to over-do it. Hunger and tiredness do not a happy Mama-to-be make.
There are lots of people around me who are pregnant too which is wonderful, some ahead of me, some behind but it is great to have lots of people to talk to and ask advice.
We are still not fully prepped yet due to holidays but I returned home from Paris to find that my Husband had painted the nursery (gold star to him), and then home from work yesterday to find it all finished and furniture in (lots more brownie points to him) so it is full steam ahead from now on… lots to do to make the little ones room beautiful and cozy and lots to buy too!
This my inspiration for the nursery;

I did kind of want a dusky pink and gold room once I found out it was a girl but I do always gravitate towards bright colours, plus my Husband is happy with this look too.
All white walls with bright everything else basically. Very excited to get started.
