Some fun internets…
Have a great weekend…
My Sister-in-law and her boyfriend are coming to stay and we are going to make a big Greek dinner inspired by our babymoon… we are also going to visit my parents-in-law at their brand new house – exciting!
Swooning over these wartime kisses… just so amazing. I cannot imagine.
I love this sassy lady’s blog… and this list – everything – YES!
Currently obsessing over the Lilly bag, I didn’t know they did a large one… coveting for a birthday treat for myself!
Another SASS-filled blog, I totally agree with this question on etiquette and weddings.
A great guide to a day out in Bath – a place I have grown up with and adore
Melon gin and tonics? YES please – shame I’ll have to wait until next summer
I got 99 problems – illustrated!
Another baby registry list – I love these lists, full of pretty things!
A great tip for white legs – I haven’t managed to get mine out much this year (too hot!) so I need this!

Last week my very lovely and generous friends Sarah and Michele threw me a baby shower…
They gathered a group of girlfriends and we all went to one of my favourite places; riverstation for mezze, bubbles and cake…
Sarah had gotten us all the tastiest cupcakes, all decorated with prams, bows and babies…
It’s so good to have occasions to bring lots of friends from different groups together, all my ladies in one place was so fun…
It was a very girly affair, there were huge displays of pink peonies and hydrangea’s from Michele (thanks to Edward Allen), pink polka dot balloons, streamers and confetti…
The food was great, lots of middle eastern mezze, vegetarian bites and chips!
I love these photos, so many faces that look like they are getting some very juicy gossip…
…and these, I just know Sarah said something outrageous but I cannot remember what it was…
But I can tell by our faces it was good…
Then I opened presents, I mean seriously amazing presents. A huge thank you to all of my wonderful friends for coming and for the gifts for Baby T, she is a very lucky girl and I cannot wait to dress her up in all the cute things.
My very grown up 5-year-old (when did that happen) godson helped me open my presents, a good job too or we would have been there for a while. I didn’t get photos of them all…
Little vans from Sofi!
Then we all played a couple of baby games, finished the bubbles and ate the cake and I went home very overwhelmed and cried over my gifts!
So very lucky! HUGE thanks to Michele and Sarah for the shower and also to everyone for coming. Also big thank you to Hamish our only male guest who came to take these lovely photographs.

I have had a lovely couple of weekends recently… despite being 7 months pregnant and getting bigger every week I am still enjoying the sunshine,if not the heat.
I had to miss St Paul’s Carnival this year, a big Bristol event, as it was my God-daughters 3rd birthday party. I was very glad of something nice to do instead as I don’t think I would have had fun with the huge crowds given how hot it was, and the fact that I couldn’t get involved in the rum punch.
The party was at King’s Weston House… an amazing new wedding venue that is in the process of being renovated, the front has just been cleaned and looks beautiful.
I loved the styling of the party room and the fact there’s not much furniture made it perfect as all the children were able to just bolt around the room to their heart’s content… that’s when they were not running around the huge green lawns!
Star was a fairy princess and was super cute all day, she has the prettiest pink frosted four layer cake that tasted even better than it looked…
I’ve had lots of countryside, with a friend’s birthday BBQ on the Ashton Court Estate and a visit to Chew Magna… England’s rolling green hills are so lovely when its blue skies and sunshine.
We visited The Pony and Trap again and I had exactly the same Sunday lunch as I had last time we went. How boring of me… how delicious it was!
I have been working hard to stay hydrated – a tip for any fellow preggo’s, the more you drink the less puffy your ankles will be.
I am as obsessed with watermelon juice as I am on holiday and my Mr is keeping a big supply in the fridge, also pineapple juice and soda is rocking my world… especially when I have fun straws to use. Who needs cocktails?
I have had the odd treat in the form of a white wine spritzer, I had a really great Sauvignon Blanc, topped it up with a lot of soda and then threw in a handful of frozen grapes… this is the best thing ever. Go freeze some grapes right now.
Also staying cool even in the shade is just not possible sometimes so I have been retreating inside to lie down a fair bit, spritzing myself with my favourite cooling spray. I need some for my feet!
And of course when the sun is out everyone loves to BBQ, we had three last weekend. My husband made jerk chicken, and we smoked some chicken legs over hickory woodchips (YUM), we had burgers, sausages, corn on the corn, roasted mushrooms, potato salad and a ton of radishes… I could eat like this forever.
This weekend we mostly stayed at home (BBQing) so I made little comfy spots in the shade, we went and got me a comfy sunlounger and a paddling pool, some friends dropped by and I was pretty happy hanging out in the garden. When I was brought a watermelon juice and more BBQ food I was pretty much in heaven.
I also got to visit a wonderful flower farm last week – Organic Blooms are exhibiting at the Eco Wedding Fair this year and so we went to visit and see what they are all about, it’s an amazing project and I can’t wait to share with everyone what they are doing. Look out for the blog post coming soon on the Eco Wedding Fair site.
Long continue this wonderful summer, but if I could have a cool breeze following me around that would be great!

Last week was a busy one…
We headed to a friend’s wedding on the first weekend, at Clevedon Hall which has the most beautiful grounds, it made for some amazing portraits. My friend is the wedding planner there so I can highly recommend it!
My bump is growing all the time, luckily a friend lent me a pretty maternity dress to wear… I love the colour, hopefully I will get to wear it again…
I had a marathon cleaning and sorting session at home, one of my favourite things to do is to sort through things and get rid of things I no longer need. Then I filled the house with peonies…
I am currently obsessed with my new perfume from Paris and this Elemis oil… little pampering treats are so important, as is red lipstick, as I grow bigger and bigger.
We have finally had some sun, there are still cloudy days and the odd rainy one but the sunny days are making up for it… I am taking strolls when I can, slowly of course…
One particularly grumpy day I decided to go to Harts Bakery near my office and treat myself, I had an awesome Moroccan spiced sweet potato and feta pie and spied some poppies by the side of the road on my way back… which actually cheered me up, of course the pie helped.
Friday I picked up some new wheels, a Pashley Little Black Bike… which I love already and must try to get out more this week before I can’t ride it for a while… then that evening stayed in for Mexican bowls and movies…
Then at the weekend we took it easy, I haven’t been sleeping well and my energy levels are quite low at the moment but it’s so important to still get out and do things, and see people.
Saturday we mooched down our local high street to buy our Sunday roast meat at Rare Butchers, and pick up freshly grown herbs… they were setting up for a street party so the road was closed and the bunting was up, love that.
We visited a little flower stall where the flowers are picked from local gardens, and had a coffee in the sunshine.
Then we got in the car and headed to the Cotswolds for a friend’s birthday lunch, the pub we visited was amazing. The garden was huge but all sectioned off in little areas by flowers beds so it felt so secluded.
We went to The Wheatshef in Northleach, which I can highly recommend… the drinks selections, for those boozing and those not was immense, service good, food even better. The garden is beautiful and I so want to go and stay there!
I wasn’t the only preggo which was lush, and meant I didn’t bore everyone (I hope) by not being able to talk about anything else, and being able to compare experiences with someone pretty close to due dates as me was great… makes everything a little less scary and easier to laugh at. The barman also made us delicious elderflower and mint carafes which made us both very happy.
The best thing though was the ridiculous portion of fries, it turned out this was for two people but when pretty much the whole table had ordered some we still had a lot. A lot, a lot, a lot. I was pretty happy with the situation.
Happily I am craving normal healthy food again as well, Sunday I wanted juice so my husband made me this amazing pink lady apple, pineapple and kiwi juice. So. Good.
Then we had a friend over for a summery roast chicken which we served with roasted Jersey royals, home-made ratatouille and steamed asparagus. So simple and delicious.
I also had the most amazing present for the Baby arrive, in the shape of a quilt from my Godmother… it’s so beautiful it went straight into the cot. She is getting quite the collection now.
We also finally finished my chocolate from Paris… which was quite upsetting, I need more of those!
And now it is Tuesday already, I wasn’t quite ready for the week to start yesterday… but I am looking forward to a yoga class and going shopping for a big list of Baby needs this week.

The past week, first full week back at work, plus lots of meetings and plans was a bit busy… but fun nonetheless!
I started with a lazy Sunday… a brunch at home, papers and Sunday playlists in the kitchen, before a huge clear out and tidy up of my clothes, jewellery and make up.
It felt great. Now I know what I have and where everything is.
Then I have a work party, the theme was retro, so I took that as a movie star era, I put on a new sparkly dress, my hair went up in a chignon and wore a red lip…
The first venue was a hotel on the water, there was even a grand piano, no one was playing it though… shame!
We started there for cocktails while the caterers and the party organiser set up our big long dinner table.
We had the wonderful Flavoursmith cook for us in our own restaurant… which Michele (my boss at riverstation) organised along with a quiz and dancing later.
The menu was Duck a l’orange, which was a duck pate, a quail and duck meat scotch egg and a duck crackling salad. All delicious, and my first scotch egg ever.
Then for mash it was simply ‘Beef, Mash and Onions’, which was a shin of beef which had certainly been cooked for hours, and fell apart as soon as you touched it, served with the creamiest mash ever seen and fried onions.
Followed by a Cup a’Tea, which was an early grey pannacotta with a lemon jelly set on top. Served in cute china cups this was possibly my favourite course of 3 delicious plates.
Monday I started the week with an impromptu date night with my Husband, we decided to visit our favourite local spot Souk Kitchen… you know how much I love it there by now.
We are not drinking this month so the fact that they offer home-made softies was amazing to us.
We had as always the bread and dips, despite the fact that I had told myself I wouldn’t they are just too good to resist. I also had dessert. A turkish delight dark chocolate pot, with a piece of the delight at the bottom. Possibly even prettiest than my previous dessert.
My week had started well!
I put some new pretties up around my new desk at work… and had a big clean and tidy at home downstairs too. Feeling ready to tackle the new year now…
During the week we have been eating a lot of green stuff, and to substitute a glass of wine I have been treating myself to the odd glass of raspberry lemonade and elderflower presse… it’s going well so far (apart from Sunday when I really wanted a glass of red)
Friday we had a movie night… we watched The Imposter which is crazy and strange, and leaves you with more questions that you had at the start.
Searching for Sugar Man is inspirational, I would highly recommend you watch it, and watch it without looking into what it is that way there are more surprises, it will leave you sad but happy at the same time.
Saturday was great, we started with a walk to the shops and my Husband got himself a very sharp suit, then we went to Poco for breakfast. They do amazing coffee, really sweet and not bitter at all. And the fry up is perfect. Not greasy, not too much but enough that you are stuffed.
Then we wandered homewards and stopped in at the Arnofini for something sweet, we shared bites of this pretty jewelled carrot cake…
Then I went and met my friend India for a long gossip session over hot chocolate and rocky road, and finally got to give her a Christmas present of YSL colouring books. Not many people would appreciate that present and I am glad I know someone who would…
We stayed in the bar for hours talking about all sorts, not exactly putting the world to rights, more our own lives.
Then Sunday, another perfect day…
I lazed around in the morning after a terrible nights sleep. I have a new cozy robe from The White Company and I had the new InStyle glossy and a mug of coffee… I was set…
Loved the new season peek… Chanel and Givenchy caught my attention, so pretty, already excited about spring.
I woke up to the smell of my Husband prepping lunch, we had friends coming and decided to make the ultimate comfort meal… he made the most amazing beef stew, with a beautiful base of vegetables, red wine and shin… served with mash and spinach. I want to eat that again and again.
Then I made an apple crumble for pudding, served with clotted cream ice cream. Delicious…
We had lots of fun running around with our friends kids, who are all lovely… Biggie doesn’t think so though so disappearing for most of the day. I made a big fuss of him when he came out from hiding. He needs to realise these little people can’t hurt him and he’s much faster than them anyway!
Now that is the kind of weekend I like, I saw lots of my home and lots of friends… I like that. Also lots of delicious food. More please.
