So date night number 3, the bf’s idea… we went to Thali Cafe (a Bristol institution) to eat some great Indian food.
If you live in Bristol and you have never been to Thali then go, the restaurants are so cute, and I love their eclectic styling and the food is not only really great it is also cheap.
We ate some “beach snacks” to start, I love that they are called this, you can (almost) pretend you’re on holiday, the food is really authentic.
Then a Thali, I love this way of eating, it’s so much food.
I had a chicken curry, the bf had a fish curry then we also had a beautiful salad, chutneys, rice, a vegetable curry and a dhal.
I was so full after all that.
Afterwards went upstairs listen to some Begal folk stories.
The story-teller was amazing, his children were sat behind us.
My bf and I were very jealous that they have such a good story-teller on hand at all times, imagine their bed-time stories!
Really lovely night.

I recently purchased the most amazing natural balm and had to recommend this place to you all.
I have the Lavender Salve, it’s a little bit like 8 hour cream in its uses, from dry skin, to dry lips or an intensive soothing mask its amazing, all natural too.
I found this at a Christmas fair when my lips were so so sore and cracked and someone from the Great Elm stand gave me a cotton bud with some on, I immediately regretted not buying some there and then because that little bit soothed my sore lips so much that I went home and ordered some straight away.
I now want more of their products, my wish list;
The packaging is gorgeous too, check them out here they also do workshops and courses so you can make your own goodies, I hope to do one this summer.

I am back in Bristol from a wonderful, very relaxing trip to the country!
I want to tell you all about my trip.
But mostly share the beautiful cottage we stayed in.
You enter the cute blue door into the dining room…
The house used to be the village bakery, and this is why there’s a huge fireplace… it houses the bread oven…
This leads on to all the other rooms, and the stairs…
I love this little window, this must have been the exterior wall previously…
But now there is a small extension which is where the lovely kitchen is… with the door leading to the garden…
My dream kitchen! A gorgeous Smeg fridge, and Belfast sink!
This is a well stocked kitchen too, really lovely china, glasses and saucepans, plus essentials like coffee, salt and pepper, olive oil etc. It’s things like this that set this cottage apart from others I have stayed in.
With a view over the small but perfectly formed garden…
Off the side of the dining room is a small study, with a iPod dock… this cottage really has everything you need.
Then there is the beautiful sitting room, with a cute woodburner, amazing sofa with an amazing throw, and lovely brown leather armchair…
And upstairs was just as lovely… two cozy bedrooms and a beautiful bathroom…
The owner is an interior designer… the art is lovely…
Theres another room in the garden too…
The cottage is opposite the church, you can hear the bells in the morning, I love that…
And we were surrounded by fields!
And sky, you should have seen the stars at night!
Big thanks to Serena, your cottage is wonderful, everything you could want or need is here.
For further details see 53durweston I highly recommend a stay here!

I am off for a week of relaxation in Dorset so you might not hear from me much, I will try to post but since we’re going to be in the deepest darkest countryside I have no idea what connection will be like.
I am taking my bf away for his birthday to the most darling cottage, thatched with a beautiful kitchen, I am possibly more excited than him!
I spotted this on Poppytalk… very similar to where I am going.
By Martha Stewart… seriously is there anything this woman doesn’t do?!
This is beautiful, I love country style kitchens with big sinks and chunky cupboards.
My actual dream kitchen comes from a shop here in Bristol and is a little more rustic than this, I do admire perfect kitchens but the one of my dreams has character and charm no flash gadgets.

Perfect to invite people to my tea party…
Even the envelopes are pretty;

So date number 2 was for me to organise (see here if you have no idea what I am talking about). I booked us into a climbing taster session at an indoor climbing centre!
It’s in a really cute area of Bristol; St Werburghs in that church at the bottom.
We had both climbed years ago as kids/teenagers so I though I was going to be okay at this, then I saw the wall!
I know what you are thinking, that looks alright… look at the people in that photograph they are TINY!
So yes after we walked in I can say I was nervous, and I was taking bets with my bf as to how far up the wall I would actually be able to go!
I think this was a brilliant date, not only did I challenge myself (I got to the very top on the easy levels and almost to the top as it got harder) it was nice to have fun and laugh with each other namely at how silly we looked, we had to wear harnesses around our legs and waist and a very unflattering helmet plus UGLY shoes!
I will spare you any looks at us 😉
I believe it is good to laugh at yourself and letting my bf see me looking silly is a new thing for me and is good.
We went home happy and with tired hands and arms and ate lots of scrummy Indian food.
